Simply Traditional Lasagna


  • ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage
  • 2 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • bulk Italian sausage
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 pinch basil
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 2 jars marinara sauce
  • 1 package lasagna noodles
  • ricotta cheese
  • mozzarella cheese, shredded


Take a brown the ground beef with Italian sausage in a large frying pan on medium-high heat. Then drain excess grease.Move in the water and black olives, then season with basil, garlic powder, sage, pepper,oregano, minced garlic, and onion flakes. Simmer  about 15 minutes, moving time to time. Stir in the marinara sauce,then take  from the heat.

Overheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Put a layer of the meat with sauce in the bottom of baking dish. Cover with a layer of dry noodles. Put and spread a thin layer of ricotta cheese over the noodles, then add  and sprinkle with a little mozzarella cheese.Wrap and cover with another layer of sauce, with repeat layering ending with the meat and sauce on top. Put in side  about 1/2 cup of mozzarella cheese to next step.

After bake for 45 minutes in overheated oven, however check about 30 minutes according on how thick the lasagna is. We know Lasagna is cooked after you can easily stick a knife into it. Then sprinkle cheese over the top, after back to the oven  about 10 minutes until be nice melted cheese topping.
